Itinerary

Day 1 : Lugano

Travel from Swiss Border or Airport to Lugano. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Lugano.

Day 2 : Lugano – Lucerne

Today visit the Swissminiatur at Melide by train from Lugano.Swissminiatur is an open-air museum where one can admire the most important Swiss buildings and means of transportation. A one-hour journey taking in the whole of Switzerland. Seems impossible? Not in Swissminiatur, the park reproducing a miniature version of the Swiss Confederation. The Park covers 14,000 m². Dotted around the park you can admire the over 120 1:125 scale models of the most famous buildings and monuments in Switzerland. And this is not all: a network of 3560 metres of miniature railway wends its way through the Park with 18 trains running on tracks, crossing bridges and stopping at stations, whilst boats ply the lakes, cable cars and funiculars climb and descend mountains and cars run along the motorways. The park is embellished with 1500 plants and over 10,000 flowers of every colour, whilst children will enjoy the playground containing swings, slides and games of every type. In the afternoon proceed to Lugano and from their travel to Lucerne by train. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 3 :  Lucerne

In the morning Excursion to Mount Titlis from Lucerne the train takes you to the mountain monestry village Engelberg where you board a gondola which takes you up to the Trübsee. You continue your trip by another gondola to Stand and finally the first revolving Titlis Rotair cablecar takes you up to Mount Titlis. For a spectacular, close-up insight into a glacier, visit the glacier cave and ride the Ice Flyer chairlift And get your thrills on the TITLIS Cliff Walk, a spectacular Suspension bridge at a height of 3041 m/10’000 ft. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 4 : Lucerne – St Moritz

The journey continues by train to St. Moritz,which is one of the most famous holiday resorts in the world. Explore the world famous holiday resort on your own, its also the center for sports competition and extravaganza. Overnight in St Moritz.

Day 5 : St Moritz – Zermatt

Today you board the Glacier Express Premium which is one of the great train journeys in the world. You travel from St. Moritz to Zermatt. Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 6 : Zermatt

Today you go on an excursion by cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat. The ride takes about half an hour. It starts at an altitude of 1605 m and ends at 3090 m on the Gornergrat ridge. The train crosses forests and a high Alpine landscape later on, and stops in four different stations along the way. Once you reach the Gornergrat, you will have an amazing view of the Matterhorn and the Monte Rosa massif. This includes the Dufourspitze (4634 m), which is the highest peak in Switzerland. There is a hotel, a restaurant, and plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the scenery. In the afternoon proceed to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
Panoramic views of 38 four-thousand-meter-high peaks – a chance to immerse yourself in a Glacier Palace 15 m below the surface of the ice – Europe’s highest restaurant at 3883 m above sea level! Europe’s highest cable car will whisk you away over gaping glacial crevasses up to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and a breathtakingly beautiful world of eternal ice and snow! The Mont Blanc, highest mountain of the Alps, appears almost near enough to touch. Visitors are very close to Italian territory now and look at the “endearing rear” of the famous Matterhorn. Below them at the foot of the mountain, they can see Europe’s largest ski region, open 365 days a year. Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 7 : Zermatt – Interlaken

Travel to Interlaken by train (It takes approx 3.5 hrs). In the afternoon proceed enjoy a visit to Schilthorn. Enjoy the mountains, real wilderness and a breathtaking view of the Bernese Oberland on Mount Schilthorn, which became famous around the world thanks to the James Bond film «On Her Majesty’s Secret Service». You can be up on the Schilthorn (2970 m) in just 32 minutes from Stechelberg (864 m). In their revolving restaurant, they offer a large A-la-carte menu and the best view over Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Also a chance to combine a trip up the Schilthorn with a walk through the panoramic spa resort of Mürren (with no cars), a trip on the funicular railway to the Allmendhubel and a visit to the Trümmelbach glacier waterfalls (entrance not included) in Stechelberg. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 8 : Interlaken

After breakfast a highlight of your visit to Switzerland awaits you. Enjoy a journey to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. The highest railway station in Europe is located 3454 m/11’333 ft. Visitors gain access to a high-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. The railway journey to the Jungfraujoch is an experience which leads through the Eiger and the Mönch. At the Eismeer and Eigerwand intermediate stations, visitors can enjoy the wonderful view from the Eiger North Face. Overnight in Interlaken.
