The William Tell Express is a boat and panoramic train line which connects Lucerne to Locarno crossing the Swiss Alps from north to south.
Day 1: Travel to Lucerne. Overnight stay in the Romantic Hotel Wilden Mann. The baroque building complex comprises a labyrinth of seven interconnected houses.
Day 2: Journey with the Wilhelm Tell Express from Lucerne to Flüelen and Lugano. In Lucerne, you board a historic paddle steamer and travel on the first-class upper deck. After lunch in the ship’s restaurant, transfer to the Gotthard Railway and travel in a panoramic coach to Lugano, Canton Ticino. Overnight stay in the Hotel Villa Carona, a 200-year-old patrician mansion that is family run and where every room is individually decorated.
Day 3: Carona and Lugano. Carona is an old, picturesque artists’ village. Lugano with its southern feel and style is a cosmopolitan city with an intimate atmosphere.
Day 4: Homeward journey
